Our Story
Our club traces its roots to DSC (Developing Skills and Character) Volleyball Club in Longwood, founded and led by Ronald Davis (Coach K) for more than nine years. In 2024, Davis invited BVA co-director and co-founder Isaac Raphael—his longtime coaching colleague—to lead a clinic with the club.

Following the clinic, Raphael immediately recognized the program’s potential and admired its strong emphasis on player development. DSC athletes weren’t just eager to win—they were eager to learn and grow in the game. Combined with nearly a decade of collaboration between Davis and Raphael, this experience inspired the vision for a new club centered on community, character, and development.

After nearly a year of careful planning and preparation by our staff, BOKEY Volleyball Academy was born.

The name “Bokey” comes from “Boat Key,” a nickname for Sanford dating back to the 1920s. By incorporating “Bokey” into our name, we honor our local roots while emphasizing our mission: to build a welcoming community where young athletes of all backgrounds can learn, grow, and develop a love for volleyball.

Our dedicated staff is committed to preparing young men and women for the next level—both on and off the court.

To our future players, parents, and guardians: welcome to BOKEY NATION!
